The Difference in Glass AGD buys glass from OE (original equipment) aftermarket manufactures as well as other aftermarket manufacturers. The difference between OEM glass and OE aftermarket is significant. OE manufactures, such as PPG, Pilkington, and Asahi do not produce their aftermarket glass using the same procedures as their OE glass. Recently, both PPG and Pilkington have been pruchasing glass from other manufactures and private labeling them, so you are not even purchasing aftermarket glass produced by an OE manufacturer at all. The good news is that non-OE manufacturers are producing glass equal to or better than the OE aftermarket glass. That is why the OE manufacturers are buying glass from non-OE manufacturers and private labeling the glass with their logo.
AGD's primary non-OE aftermarket glass manufacturer is one of the largest producers of glass for the OE aftermarket manufacturers. Many glass installation companies will tell you they only use OE glass, when in reality they mean that they are selling you OE aftermarket glass, not OEM glass. There is a difference and the main difference is the high cost of OEM glass.
Installation Materials AGD uses OEM adhesives (the glue that holds the windshield on the vehicle). All our installers are certified by the manufacturers for proper installation techniques. The urethane is rated for 1 hour drive away time. AGD uses the highest quality, quickest cureing adhesives for your convenience.
Moldings Most windshields and many back glasses require some type of molding. Again, AGD uses the highest quality moldings to insure proper fit and quality appearance.
